The current state of politics

These days, it seems like there's news about politics everywhere you look. Whether it's the latest political news on 2022 or how the current administration is handling its policies, politics are all around us.

The thing with politics is that they can be divisive and often leave people feeling frustrated or angry. What's even more frustrating is that we don't always have a clear answer on who to trust anymore. That's why you need an outlet for navigating through all of this confusion and misinformation in order to find your own truth.

One thing I've noticed recently is a lot of misleading information on social media, which makes me hesitant at times when I see posts about something happening in our country and world today. The 2022 election

The 2020 presidential election is still underway, but many people are already looking ahead to 2022. It's not too early to do some research on the candidates and start thinking about who you would like to vote for.

Here are a few of the top contenders for the 2022 election:

*Jim Baker (Republican)

*Peter Dutton (Liberal) *Marissa Mayer (Independent)

*Donald Trump Jr. (Democratic) *Bernie Sanders (Socialist)

*Kanye West (Unaffiliated)

There are sure to be more candidates than these in 2022, so keep an eye out for new developments as they happen! This week has been jam-packed with plenty of updates worth reading about. In the headlines this week we saw Jim Baker go head to head with Peter Dutton for Australian Prime Minister after the Liberal party failed to form a majority government. Marissa Mayer announced her bid for President this week and Kanye West became engaged just last night at his concert in Los Angeles! With such exciting events happening it is important that we stay informed on what's going on around us.

The effects of the 2020 election

Since the 2020 election, there have been vast changes in the political landscape. For example, in a recent scandal involving the president's son, Donald Trump Jr., he was indicted on charges of conspiracy against the U.S., tax fraud and campaign finance violations. This all stemmed from his 2016 meeting with a Russian lawyer who had promised him dirt on Hilary Clinton. All in all, it seems as though American politics is never going to be the same again. Some say that this event will cause even more division among Americans than the divisive rhetoric between Republicans and Democrats did previously, but others are hopeful that change is finally coming.

The impeachment trial

In the US, impeachment is a process in which Congress (House and Senate) tries an official for misconduct. The House of Representatives holds a trial in which they can vote to impeach the official. If two thirds of the members vote yes, then the official is impeached. The Senate conducts a trial and needs two thirds again to convict.

When President Donald Trump was sworn into office, many people were wary that he would be impeached because he had such a divisive victory and had not given any indication of making America more unified or uniting it. However, there has been no talk about impeachment from those who have voted against him nor from his supporters--so it's unlikely that this will happen anytime soon. But Democrats are still trying to get at what they feel like are Trump's weak points: Russia connections, and allegations of collusion with Russia during the 2016 election.

The president might want to hold off on plans for his 2020 campaign slogan: Keep America Great

The Mueller report

On Sunday, Attorney General William Barr released a letter summarizing the findings of Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s investigation. The letter made clear that Mueller did not find sufficient evidence that President Trump or his campaign conspired with Russia to interfere in the 2016 election, and that Mr. Barr and Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein concluded that the evidence was not sufficient to establish obstruction of justice either. As a result, they chose not to pursue criminal charges against Mr. Trump or anyone associated with his campaign for these matters.

The report does note, however, that it does not exonerate him from obstruction of justice because it does not preclude the possibility of an obstruction charge based on other actions—though no such charge was ever brought by the Special Counsel's office.
